Ms. Kamat is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and the Clinical Director of posAbilities, Laurel Behavior Support Services (LBSS). LBSS provides behavior support to over 300 children and over 200 adults across the Lower Mainland, the Island, Sunshine Coast, and the Okanagan region in British Columbia. Prior to joining Laurel, Kavita worked as a preschool teacher in an integrated state-run program in Atlanta, Georgia USA, where her primary focus was to create an inclusive learning environment. Kavita holds an MA in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and an M.Ed. from the University of British Columbia. She is also a Certified Triple P® (Steppingstone) Provider. Kavita has extensive experience working with culturally diverse families with children who have autism and other cognitive disabilities in home, school, community, and residential settings. As the Director of the program, she currently provides clinical supervision and oversight to a team of 30 clinicians. She is also responsible for development and training delivered to families and various community professionals across different regions.
