Dr. Vikram Dua

Dr. Dua is the Canadian lead of the Indo-Canadian Autism Network (I-CAN), dedicated to increasing knowledge and capacity for neurodevelopmental services and research in India. Dr. Dua is a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist with clinical and research interests in complex individuals with autism and developmental disabilities—and systems of care that partner with community providers to enhance access to clinical expertise and evidence-based treatments. Dr. Dua is a consultant at the Queen Alexandra Center for Children, in Victoria, British Columbia, where his clinical work focusses on assessment and treatment of children and youth with ASD/ID and psychiatric comorbidity. He is also Medical Director of Treatment Research and Education for Autism and Developmental Disorders (TRE-ADD) at Surrey Place in Toronto,

Focused on intensive treatment of youth with autism and intellectual disability and severe self- injurious behavior. Dr. Dua is appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at University of British Columbia. He also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Dua has 20 years’ experience developing and implementing innovative dual-diagnosis services in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada. He has also provided training and consultation to several autism centers across India over the last decade. Dr. Dua earned a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, then completed Medical School at McMaster University, Residency at Harvard Medical School, and a Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
