Dr. Nandita is an eternal child at heart, who has been practicing developmental and behavioral pediatrics in Goa, India exclusively since 1993, after completing her MD in Pediatrics from Goa University. In 2005, she started Sethu, an organization which works with children and all who care for them, reaching out to over 10,000 children since its inception. Sethu's mission is to be a bridge between children and their families, schools, and communities to foster their development to its full potential. As the Director of the Sethu Centre for Child Development & Family Guidance, Dr. Nandita heads a unique service based on Family Centered Care and provided by a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals for the assessment and management of developmental and behavioral difficulties in children, with a focus on autism, ADHD, inclusive education, learning disabilities and parenting issues. Dr. Nandita is the Coordinator of the Fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at Sethu, under the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. She has also served on various Government committees like the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Internal Quality Assurance Committee of Goa University, State Level Early Childhood Care & Education Council (Directorate of Woman & Child Development) and Board of Studies (Special Education) of Goa University. Sethu works closely with a range of organizations and Government agencies promoting holistic child development and inclusive education.
