Dr Koyeli Sengupta
Dr. Koyeli Sengupta is a Developmental pediatrician and Director of Autism Intervention services at Ummeed Child Development Centre in Mumbai and a Consultant in developmental paediatrics at SRCC-Narayana Children’s Hospital in Mumbai. In addition to her role as a clinician, Dr.Koyeli has been instrumental in growing Ummeed’s autism services into a range of clinical services and training programs for parents and professionals, including UPPA - a unique parent mediated program culturally adapted from the evidence-based Project ImPACT. She led the development and implementation of AITP (Autism Intervention Training Program) – a comprehensive program that has trained close to 70 multi-disciplinary professionals from various parts of the country in providing evidence-based, family-cantered services to children with ASD and their families. In addition, Dr. Koyeli is the lead for Ummeed’s ECHO Autism program, the first of its kind in Asia that provides tele mentoring in ASD diagnosis and management to primary-care and developmental paediatricians from approximately eight countries, as well as Ummeed’s project on adaptation and piloting of the WHO-Autism Speaks Caregiver Skills Training (CST) program in India. She has a post-graduate degree in Paediatrics and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology (Eastern Illinois University, USA). She is a member of the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR), a Resource member of Forum for Autism (FFA)- the largest parent-support group in Maharashtra and serves on the Secretariat board of the International Developmental Paediatrics Association (IDPA).
